Cuyahoga County - County Amendment / Issue 18: Arts and Culture
Passed with 55 percent of the vote. The levy will raise the county cigarette tax by 1.5 cents per
cigarette or 30 cents per pack for 10 years, generating about $20 million per year for artists, arts and
cultural organizations, and special cultural projects. The money collected through the initiative, will
be awarded through county grants to select applicants through a rigorous peer-review process
conducted by the arts and cultural district in the county.
